For years, Kappa Delta sororities across the country have raised money for the prevention of child abuse as a major philanthropy project. On February 7, 2009, the Beta Chi chapter is hosting the 16th annual Shamrock ‘N Run 5K. Registration starts at 8:30 and the race begins at 10:00am. Please come run or walk for the cause. Visit Shamrock-n-Run.com to make a donation, register or simply learn about the race!
Last year our race raised over $42,000 for the prevention of child abuse and won the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life’s Chapter Excellence Award for Outstanding Philanthropic Activity. This year we hope to exceed last year’s donation. Please explore this website to register for the race, make a donation and find out how you can help fight child abuse.
Eighty percent of the funds raised through the Shamrock ‘N Run 5K will be given to the Center for Child and Family Health in Durham, NC. The remaining 20 percent will be given to the national Prevent Child Abuse America organization.
Seniors Katie Isley, Kylan Lamont, Ashley Rouse and Caroline Thore have already begun planning the event! Please email them with any questions at info@shamrock-n-run.com
